Bondi Markets

If you’re visiting Bondi on a weekend you’d be crazy to miss the Bondi Markets. They’re held every weekend at Bondi Beach Public School (Campbell Parade, Bondi Beach – right across from the beach front).

Foodies: Saturdays are delicious at the farmers markets (9am-1pm)

I start most weekends with a fantastically spicy chai at the farmer’s markets chai tent. You can pull up a cushion and enjoy the sunshine, while listening to the tunes of the market’s feature band. I can’t go past a hearty breakfast burrito or a plate of delicious fritters to fill my stomach.

You can also find loads of home-made baked goodies such as cookies, muffins, bread and pastries. If you’re thirsty or in need of a coffee fix, there’s plenty of stalls with unique refreshments and barista made coffees.

Fashionistas: Sundays are full of fashion, jewellery, furniture and crafts (10am-4pm)

You can find many unique items at the Sunday markets, a number of which are locally designed and made. You can also pick up a bargain or rare find in the vintage and second hand stalls. Many locals also have ‘garage’ sales – some within the markets, while others set up outside their apartments in the streets around the markets. The flower stall (which is also at the Farmers Markets on Saturday) is always popular, so you need to get in fairly early to get the best bunch!

Families: It can be quite tricky to navigate the crowds with prams but there are plenty of families wandering the stalls so people are usually very understanding and will move out of the way if asked nicely. Unfortunately fur babies have to be left at the gates, but they’ll get plenty of love and attention from visitors while they’re waiting.
