Here’s a list of the best places to eat with kids in Bondi – great restaurants and cafes where you can feel a little more at ease when dinner time and tantrums collide.
Shuk – 2 Mitchell St, North Bondi
Best for: Great coffees, bakery treats, lunch and dinner
Opening times: Mon to Thurs 6am–5pm/ Fri 6am–10pm/ Sat 6am –10pm/ Sun 7am–5pm
Cafe, bakery and deli. The flavour of Israel mixed with modern favourites.
There are plenty of high chairs, friendly staff who are amazing with kids and best of all, an enclosed kids play area out the back. You can enjoy a meal (or coffee) with friends while the kids play safely.
Opening times: 7 days, 7am – late
Best for: Early family dinners
The Hill are obviously keen to cater to families with a great offer of free meals for children from 5pm-6pm when Mum and Dad order meals.
They have a separate kids menu for breakfast and lunch/dinner (pasta, burger, fish & chips, salad/ bowl of chips).
They also do a great roast on a Sunday and have free Wi-Fi should you need to whip out an episode of Peppa Pig on the iPhone to avoid a tantrum (that saved our bacon last weekend).
Papa Pasticceria– Shop LG 1–4, 75–79 Hall Street, Bondi
Opening times: Open 7 days from 7pm-11pm
Best for: Snacks, treats and desserts
Papa Pasticceria is a cake and dessert wonderland for big kids and little kids. There’s plenty of sweet eye candy for kids to take in, high chairs and areas to hide away if your little one is throwing a tanty.
Da Orazio Pizza and Porchetta – Shop LG09 The Hub 75-79 Hall St Bondi,
Opening times: Mon-Fri 5pm-late/ Sat-Sun 12pm-late
Best for: Authentic Italian pasta and pizza dinners
5pm is family dinner time at Da Orazio with great music to drown out your toddler’s screeching and a tasty menu for the bambini. Highchairs and a kids menu are available – best to call in advance and book a table.
Cafe Bondi – 14 O’Brien St, Bondi

The menu at Cafe Bondi is extensive and there’s plenty of seating both inside and out. High chairs are readily available and they have a kids menu.
Pompeis– 126 Roscoe St, Bondi Beach
Opening times: Tues-Fri 12pm-11pm/Sat-Sun 8.30am-11pm
Best for: Family dinners with gelato for dessert
Pompeis serve ‘genuine, handcrafted, Italian regional food’. It’s very popular for family gatherings and birthday parties.
Mad Pizza – 15 O’Brien St, Bondi
Opening times: Mon-Thur 5pm-11pm/ Fri 12pm-midnight/ Sat 9am-midnight/ Sun 9am-10pm
Best for: Family pizza dinners
Mad Pizza is popular for families with older kids for early pizza dinners. We took our toddler there last week and had to wait for a high chair as they only had a couple. She loved the pasta though!
Ribs and Burgers – Shop 4, 61 Hall St, Bondi
Opening times: Sun-Thurs 11am-9.30pm/ Fri-Sat – 11am-10pm

Ribs and Burgers have family booths and a kids menu including junior pork riblets.
Nandos – 85-87 Hall St, Bondi
Opening times: 7 days a week from 11am-10pm

This Nandos is huge and there’s rarely a queue. If you’re after something super quick and tasty for the family, this is the choice for you.
Fish Mongers – 42 Hall St, Bondi
Opening times: 12pm-9pm
Best for: Fish, seafood, chips
Gourmet fish and chips for all the family; Fish Mongers have a kids menu and a great family dinner box to share. According to the website, the SMH voted Fish Mongers as having Sydney’s number 1 chip – a big call, definitely worth putting them to the test!
Bondi Pizza – Level 6, Westfield Shopping Centre, Bondi Junction
Opening times: see website
Best for: Family dinners, large parties
With an extensive pizza and pasta menu (there’s something about their pizza sauce that makes this place one of my favourites), big kids and little kids will be very happy with this choice. It can get pretty busy for dinners so it’s best to make a reservation.
Moo Burger – 70A Campbell Parade, Bondi Beach
Opening times: 7 days a week, 11am – late
Best for: Burgers so big and juicy they’ll make your eyes bulge
Bondi Trattoria – 34 Campbell Parade, Bondi Beach
Opening times: Mon – Sun, 8am- late
Best for: Family lunches and dinners that are a little more special/lunches with a beach view.
I’m a member of a local mum’s Facebook group and this restaurant is highly recommended by many of the mums in the group. They have an extensive kids menu and it’s a lovely place to while away a summer lunch in the outdoors if you can get a seat on the deck.
Bo Larn Thai Kitchen – Level 6, Westfield Shopping Centre, Bondi Junction
Bo Larn is one of the newest restaurants within Westfield Shopping Centre. We loved the fact that they gave our daughter her own plastic bowl, spoon, plate and cup and made her feel special – the waitresses are very friendly towards children. The food is amazing, there’s plenty of space and I’ve never seen a queue.
I hope you found this article helpful. I’d love to hear from you if you have some other suggestions of great places to eat with kids in Bondi that I could add.
