Best places to eat with kids in Bondi

Here’s a list of the best places to eat with kids in Bondi – great restaurants and cafes where you can feel a little more at ease when dinner time and tantrums collide.

Shuk – 2 Mitchell St, North Bondi

Best for: Great coffees, bakery treats, lunch and dinner

Opening times: Mon to Thurs 6am–5pm/ Fri 6am–10pm/ Sat 6am –10pm/ Sun 7am–5pm

Cafe, bakery and deli. The flavour of Israel mixed with modern favourites.

There are plenty of high chairs, friendly staff who are amazing with kids and best of all, an enclosed kids play area out the back. You can enjoy a meal (or coffee) with friends while the kids play safely.

The Hill Eatery – Shop 5, 39-53 Campbell Parade North Bondi

Opening times: 7 days, 7am – late

Best for: Early family dinners

The Hill are obviously keen to cater to families with a great offer of free meals for children from 5pm-6pm when Mum and Dad order meals.

They have a separate kids menu for breakfast and lunch/dinner (pasta, burger, fish & chips, salad/ bowl of chips).

They also do a great roast on a Sunday and have free Wi-Fi should you need to whip out an episode of Peppa Pig on the iPhone to avoid a tantrum (that saved our bacon last weekend).

This Nandos is huge and there’s rarely a queue. If you’re after something super quick and tasty for the family, this is the choice for you.

Fish Mongers – 42 Hall St, Bondi

Opening times: 12pm-9pm

Best for: Fish, seafood, chips

Gourmet fish and chips for all the family; Fish Mongers have a kids menu and a great family dinner box to share. According to the website, the SMH voted Fish Mongers as having Sydney’s number 1 chip – a big call, definitely worth putting them to the test!

Bondi Pizza – Level 6, Westfield Shopping Centre, Bondi Junction

Opening times: see website

Best for: Family dinners, large parties

With an extensive pizza and pasta menu (there’s something about their pizza sauce that makes this place one of my favourites), big kids and little kids will be very happy with this choice. It can get pretty busy for dinners so it’s best to make a reservation.

Moo Burger – 70A Campbell Parade, Bondi Beach

Opening times: 7 days a week, 11am – late

Best for: Burgers so big and juicy they’ll make your eyes bulge

You’ll love the selection of gourmet burgers (including Wagyu beef, duck, lamb and grilled salmon), while the kids can choose from the ‘little cow’ menu. little-cow-menu

Bondi Trattoria – 34 Campbell Parade, Bondi Beach

Opening times: Mon – Sun, 8am- late

Best for: Family lunches and dinners that are a little more special/lunches with a beach view.

I’m a member of a local mum’s Facebook group and this restaurant is highly recommended by many of the mums in the group. They have an extensive kids menu and it’s a lovely place to while away a summer lunch in the outdoors if you can get a seat on the deck.

Bo Larn Thai Kitchen – Level 6, Westfield Shopping Centre, Bondi Junction

Bo Larn is one of the newest restaurants within Westfield Shopping Centre. We loved the fact that they gave our daughter her own plastic bowl, spoon, plate and cup and made her feel special – the waitresses are very friendly towards children. The food is amazing, there’s plenty of space and I’ve never seen a queue.

I hope you found this article helpful. I’d love to hear from you if you have some other suggestions of great places to eat with kids in Bondi that I could add.
